We survived! lol Gina almost went a little nuts when Steve Wallace and Carl got together and I had one of the worst migraines I’ve had in a VERY long time on the way home. It was so bad that I let her drive, at night, while I wrapped up my head and covered my eyes lol Not because of her driving lol just because of the light which hurt like… um well it hurt a lot.
We chilled on the drive in and stopped to get something to eat and just took our time which put us there right at gates opening. We get parked and looked around and did the looking around thing and received our “rally” towels…. those ended up being a topic of conversation all night lol funny too. Perfecting the art of the rally towel waving was interesting to say the least lol if nothing else brought a few laughs to about 3 rows of people lol
We were surrounded with fairly sober folks, shocking I know! And since we had 2 extra tickets because of folks not able to go we had plenty of room to be comfortable. Other than being in a suite it/coach it was one of the most enjoyable and comfortable races I’ve been to. Glad to see some actual racing this week unlike in Nashville. Might not have always been in the front but there was some great racing going on out on the track back in the pack.
Of course after Carl became the Charlie Brown Car Gina wasn’t as thrilled but we continued pulling for other drivers Stremme, Yeley, Huffman, KHI cars and on down the line of people we would have liked to see win and that did include Leicht so we stayed and let (or thought we did) the traffic clear and watched his Victory Lane stuff.
Kentucky needs some help in the traffic distribution area. Once you GET to the roads, things were great… getting there not so great or fast. I’ve been to a lot of tracks and know some of them are better at this than others….. Nashville rocks at it in my opinion so maybe Kentucky can take a lesson from them.
Until the next race…this has been your ‘gone racin” report lol
Yeah I’m feeling a bit giddy and silly today for some reason
